Ear Cinema has presented 2 previous works to date titled 'Little Mary' and 'The Lodger' respectively :
project sub-title : Little Mary
A stand-alone installation and performances shown at the ICA Gallery, London running for 4 days, Nov 2007
The story is based around the character of a little girl named Mary who we never actually get to see throughout the piece. The story begins with an announcement by a doctor about Mary’s health and at this point we see bandages being unwrapped. News reporters swarm through the corridor of a hospital where a grief-stricken mother and a nun are inconsolable. Police officers make a call to start a man-hunt. We backtrack to statements from Mary who is commenting on her own situation. A man in a bad suit starts waving a book as though it was on fire. The narrator (acts as audience members) asks questions to the nurse and hospital staff.
project sub-title : The Lodger
Shown at the Battersea Arts Centre, London, as part of the Burst Festival, May 2007 : a collaboration with the performance group '1927'
The lodger arrived without warning at an unsociable hour. Cheap love on his breath A tatty piece of string that bore a rusty key around his neck And a pencil moustache that was pencilled on. He was a French man who didn’t appear to speak any English....or any French.......
