Late Noon Sun

A young woman was found murdered. What lead to Little Mary's death ?. 'Late Noon Sun' revisits the strange and sinister tale of Little Mary and tries to unravel the haunting mystery -

Ear Cinema's artist director and sound designer, Wajid Yaseen invited the acclaimed, award winning, film-maker / animator Lizzie Oxby to direct and devise the film to re-tell the story of Little Mary's death based on Alice Kemp's poetic story. Following on from their sellout previous shows at the ICA , 'Late Noon Sun' revisits the sinister tale to try and unravel the haunting, dark mystery with beautifully integrated live stage performances by Alicia Tatge & Dagmara Bilon and original soundscapes by Wajid and Dave Hunt using a unique immersive 3D sound technique known as 'ambisonics'. Members of the  performance group Psychological Art Circus also perform in the film which incorporates some of their renowned rope and trapeze work.

Ear Cinema will be presented as a multi-screened installation/performance combining animation, film footage, live performance and sound techniques rarely experienced outside of academia - submerge yourself to a world of eerie wonder and unexpected multi-sensory delights ....

'Washing sails like old flags of grey nations....a woman in a headscarf thinks about nothing in particular as she moves cloth over window sill.....a potted plant falls and smashes. She's got a sour affectation - everyone around here's tasted it. She waits, recalling prime numbered pages of the Fact Book of Fiction ... a flesh net glove ... that which must be destroyed.....'
